Ok, so I happen to follow two amazing photography blogs. Simmons Moments and Tiffany Morton Photography. And Everyday that they have a new post is like
christmas to me. Kristi at Moments does the most beautiful family portraits I have ever seen. She is so creative and I Love Love Love the way she positions her subjects. And Tiffany, Oh Tiffany The way she photographs babies makes me want to have another just to get pictures taken by her. So all this Photography looking, and staring and obsessing over wants me to learn how to take better photos not for a professional reason just so I can take great photos of my little ones that I will cherish and look at and be proud of. So any suggestions? What cameras are best to learn with? Is
photoshop elements enough to start out with? How do use natural light to my advantage? Help me I am dying to learn!! And I need a new creative outlet, Painting and drawing is hard for me to do right now because of the little ones, I can't leave anything out or it will just get ruined. I thought photography would be nice to just turn on the computer and do my thing. So please anyone with any advice I would love to hear it.

oh thanks for looking at my photography website ;) lol jk!
but here's the link in case: :)

and
www.tristaharrisonphotography.weebly.com
but now as far as advice:
if you don't want to spend too much money on a camera (Aka SLR) I would get a canon powershot 12 megapixel camera (They are around 150.00 and are the BEST) Canon has always been my favorite brand of camera, and most retailers tell you the same thing!
Editing: I have photoshop elements, but...one of my favorite editing programs to use is paint.net and it is a FREE download and is exactly the same if not a little better than photoshop elements. So i would recommend it:
you can go to google and type in:
paint.net download!
hope this helps and remember, to start followng my blogs too :) hehe!
Thanks so much for the way sweet compliment!! It seriously made my day. I know what you mean about the creative outlet with kids, that is why digital is so nice, no mess. I started out doing it as a hobby I just wanted to take better pictures of my kids, I am so glad I did because I love it!
As for any advice. I would look into either Canon, or Nikon. They are both really good brands. You can find some really good used dslr's on www.ksl.com under the classifieds section, for pretty good prices. To start with, and make sure it is something you are going to really enjoy I would get a Canon XS, or XSI or Nikon D40. It just depends on your preference which brand, any of those will make great "starter" camera's. This is just coming from me though... lol I still have a lot to learn... :)
Then for software, I have only used elements a few times, it is a really good program, just a little more limited than the full version. Money wise it is a lot more economical, but the full version is way worth the extra money.... again just coming from me.
Hope this helps, email me if you have more questions... Thanks again for the compliment!
